This draft report differs from other ICRP documents. One important point is to bridge concepts in biology and radiation biology. Further developments in radiation biology will be possible given its close relationship to stem cell biology. In this regard, Chapter 3.9 will play an important role in the development of radiation biology and radiation protection by strengthening the exchange of ideas between the fields of biology and radiation biology.
